Ashley Bouman is a writer, queer activist, and disability advocate based in Cobourg, Ontario, with two decades of experience in community organizing, nonprofit leadership, and public advocacy.
As Chapter Leader of PFLAG Cobourg/Northumberland since 2016, she has played a key role in advancing queer visibility, accessibility, and inclusive community education throughout Northumberland County.
Her work spans grassroots advocacy, nonprofit communications, public speaking, government engagement, and community activism, with a focus on amplifying underrepresented voices and creating meaningful social impact.
Ashley has collaborated with local organizations, boards, and community initiatives on projects related to equity, accessibility, queer advocacy, and public education.
Alongside her advocacy work, Ashley is also a freelance writer focused on community storytelling, nonprofit communications, and issues surrounding identity, inclusion, and rural life living in Southern Ontario.
