WHY I ENJOY BOARD WORK

Serving on a Board of Directors allows me to contribute to causes and organizations that hold deep meaning and align with my values. By volunteering my time, resources, and expertise, I can positively impact the lives of others and help address social issues that matter to me.

Being a board member for charities also allows me to bring my unique skills, knowledge, and experiences to the boardroom. I can use my professional expertise to guide strategic decisions, ensure effective governance, and support the growth and impact of the organization. Seeing how my contributions can benefit the organization and the individuals it serves is fulfilling.

Engaging in charitable work and serving on boards benefits the community and provides personal and professional growth. I have the opportunity to expand my network, develop leadership skills, and deepen my understanding of the pressing social issues in our community. It keeps me connected to the needs and aspirations of those around me, fostering a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Giving back to the community and providing expertise on the board of directors for charities is not only a way to make a difference, but it's also a way to nurture my own personal growth and create meaningful connections with like-minded individuals.

It's essential to who I am and how I contribute to the world around me.

BOARD DEVELOPMENT TEACHING & TRAINING

Board development strengthens and enhances a board of directors' effectiveness and performance. It involves activities, strategies, and initiatives to improve the board’s composition, governance practices and decision-making capabilities.

Board development includes recruitment, training and education, leadership development, strategic planning, and succession planning. By investing in board development, organizations can build a stronger and more proficient board ready to handle their fiduciary and oversight responsibilities. By prioritizing teaching new skills that reflect these values, boards can ensure a broader representation of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds.

Ultimately, board development focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion cultivates well-rounded boards that reflect the communities they serve and uplifts the collective potential for transformative impact.

I can develop a training program specific to your organization’s needs. Focusing on skills such as cultural competency, active listening, and inclusive leadership not only empowers board members to create spaces that value and respect diverse voices but also paves the way for authentic collaboration and the equitable distribution of opportunities.
